Episode 27 will be dedicated to a friend who recently started chemotherapy. When I suggested lifting their spirits by making a mix during this challenging time, they replied "let the music make me dream". Since this person likes brass-infused salsa cuts, I knew what would be the theme of the show.

Angel Figueroa is an assistant professor in the Department of Intercultural Studies at Josai International University (Chiba, Japan). Salsa music is among his research interests (in the fields of ethnomusicology and popular music studies). As a Japan-based DJ, he has been spinning salsa for more than 25 years.
